Man arrested in downtown Orlando shooting

Shots fired into car; No one injured

ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando police say a man fired several shots into an unoccupied vehicle during an altercation with another man.

Benjamin Bermudez, 22, of Orlando, was arrested in the shooting, which occurred around 2:15 a.m. Monday in the Wells Fargo parking lot on Central Boulevard near Orange Avenue in downtown Orlando.

Witnesses say the fight started inside The Beacham and spread into the street.

According to police, a gunman opened fire during an altercation and pointed his gun at a woman.  The man also shot up a car near the woman, police said.

No one was injured, however.

Officers caught the man as he was running from the scene, according to police.  He was arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm, discharging a firearm in public and reckless display of a firearm.

No other details were released.
