Warlocks shooting trial continues

Paul Smith charged with homicide in fatal motorcycle gang shooting

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. – The former motorcycle gang member accused of firing the first shot in a Seminole County gun fight is expected to testify in court on Tuesday.

Investigators say Paul Smith was attending a charity motorcycle ride in 2012 when his former gang, the Warlocks motorcycle gang, showed up.

Smith then started shooting, which led to a gunfight, investigators said.

Three people were killed and two others were seriously injured. Smith faces three counts of homicide and one count of attempted homicide.

Smith said he fired in self-defense.

Three other people have already been convicted and are serving time for their roles in the shooting.

Smith is expected to take the stand on Tuesday, followed by closing arguments.

Court resumes at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
