Fake TV repairman robs 73-year-old at Central Florida motel

PALM COAST, Fla. – Flagler County sheriff's deputies continue to search for a man who robbed a 73-year-old motel guest under the guise that he was there to fix his TV.

The robbery happened Monday around 12:40 p.m. at the Best Western Hotel on Kingswood Drive in Palm Coast.

According to the Flagler County Sheriff's Office, the guest said he was approached by a man in the parking lot who asked if he was checking out of of the motel.   Deputies said the man then told the victim he was there to fix the TV in his room.

The guest told deputies that he was having problems with the TV, so he believed the man was there to help, officials said.

The guest said when he entered the room, the man pushed him to the ground and threatened him before stealing his wallet.  The guest was not seriously injured.

The assailant was described as a black man, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and 185 pounds.  He had greasy, black hair and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and dark jeans.

Surveillance video spotted the man driving a 2003 to 2007, silver Honda Accord or Honda Civic.
