PALM BAY, Fla. – Palm Bay police are investigating a head-on crash involving a car and a school bus carrying up to six students.

None of the children was seriously injured in the crash, which occurred Friday afternoon at 1261 Emerson Drive near Lexington, according to police.

Witnesses said the driver of a red Ford four-door vehicle hit the bus head-on, according to police.  The driver of the Ford was possibly driving under the influence, witnesses also told police.

Palm Bay police said there were four to six children on board the bus coming from Lockmar Elementary School. The children were picked up by their parents.

A DUI investigation is ongoing with the driver, who is currently at the hospital.

No other details have been released.
