The Florida Highway Patrol said Tyler Dreher, 32, of Deltona, died in the crash, which occurred around 2 a.m. Wednesday on eastbound I-4 between U.S. Highway 17-92 and Dirksen Drive just across the St. Johns River Bridge near Deltona.

According to the FHP, Dreher was on a Suzuki motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed when he crashed into the rear of a Toyota Camry.

Dreher, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected from his motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.  The driver of the Camry, a 45-year-old Orange Park woman, suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital, the FHP said.

Troopers said three other crashes occurred after the fatal wreck: A vehicle attempting to avoid the crash scene struck a guardrail; Another car drove through the debris field; and a Seminole County sheriff's deputy responding to the fatal crash collided with a semitrailer.

The FHP said the debris field from the crashes was more than 900 feet long.

Traffic was diverted onto U.S. 17-92 until I-4 eastbound reopened about seven hours later.
