MARION COUNTY, Fla. – Deputies said a 17-year-old has been charged with manslaughter after a 14-year-old was killed Wednesday.
According to the Marion County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to 7696 Southeast 121st Place for a reported shooting.

When they arrived, Dalton Edwards told them he and the victim were just "playing around," stating that the victim was pointing a 20-gauge shotgun at him. Edwards reportedly picked up a 9 mm handgun, pointed it at the victim and accidentally fired it.
The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Edwards is being held without bond in the Marion County Juvenile Detention Facility.
