Files stolen from SUV issued to Groveland city manager

Chevrolet Blazer left unlocked overnight

GROVELAND, Fla. – A city vehicle assigned to the Groveland city manager was broken into and several items, including personnel files and paychecks were stolen, according to police.

Redmond Jones II told Groveland police that the Chevrolet Blazer was broken into earlier this week.

Jones said a black notebook case containing city papers, city personnel files, two paychecks, business cards, a jump drive and a city-issued laptop were missing.

Jones said the SUV was parked in his driveway and left unlocked overnight.

An investigation has been launched into the vehicle burglary.
