Man killed in Cocoa hit-and-run

Mustang owner named person of interest

COCOA, Fla. – Troopers are investigating a hit-and-run accident they say killed a 22-year-old Cocoa man.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the driver of a Ford Mustang hit the man, who was walking along School Street in Cocoa on Tuesday night. The man died at Holmes Regional Medical Center Wednesday morning.

Troopers tell Local 6 the car involved in the crash was found abandoned along Bay Street near crash site.

The FHP says Taylor Michael Edwards, 22, talked with troopers Wednesday morning and remains as a person of interest in the case.

The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending, troopers said.
