FHP says Matthew Sconyers died in crash

ORLANDO, Fla. – A 34-year-old Port St. Johns man was struck and killed while riding his bicycle in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Matthew Sconyers died in the crash, which occurred around 9:20 p.m. Wednesday near Colonial and Melanie drives in Orlando, the FHP said.

According to troopers, Sconyers was trying to cross Colonial when he pulled into the path of a Ford Mustang driven by a 31-year-old Winter Springs man.

Sconyers was ejected from his bike and was pronounced dead, the FHP said.

The driver of the Mustang was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
