Bear kills dog in Lake Mary

Animal also acted aggressively toward homeowner, Florida wildlife officials say

LAKE MARY, Fla. – Florida wildlife officials continue to try to trap a bear that killed a dog last week in Lake Mary.

The incident happened Thursday in the Shannon Downs subdivision, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

Officials said the bear killed the Maltese and acted aggressively toward a homeowner.

Traps were set, but the animal has not yet been captured, wildlife officials said.

The trap did catch another bear, which was relocated, officials said.

No other details were released.
