Woman killed in crash with Disney bus identified

3-vehicle wreck happens near Coronado Springs resort

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – A 29-year-old Windermere woman was killed early Monday in a crash involving a car and a Disney bus, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 1 a.m. on Buena Vista Drive at Western Way near the entrance to the Coronado Springs resort.

According to the FHP, driver Amelia Davis ran a red light while making a left turn from Western Way onto Buena Vista Drive and pulled in front of the bus, leading to the crash.   Davis was taken to Celebration Hospital, where she later died, troopers said.

None of the 25 passengers aboard the bus, including the 58-year-old driver, was injured, the FHP said.

A third car, which was traveling behind the Disney bus, sustained minor damage in the crash, the FHP said.

An investigation is ongoing.
