U.S. Coast Guard seizes $44 million in cocaine bust

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The U.S. Coast Guard on Tuesday unloaded $44 million dollars worth of cocaine in St. Petersburg.

Officers made the 3,000-pound bust off the coast of Panama in November. 

Six of the suspected smugglers were in U.S.  federal custody, while a seventh was transferred to Panamanian authorities.
