ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – Volusia County deputies are searching for the crooks who targeted an Ormond Beach home on Thursday afternoon in broad daylight.

Thieves stole Christmas presents, jewelry, electronics and a pet bearded dragon lizard.

"To steal somebody from something, or something from somebody that has nothing, that works every day of the week, said Amy Dunn.

Dunn said the crooks got in by using a chair to leap over the fence and then got in through the window. Dunn's mostly upset about her son's pet that was stolen.

"My son's favorite dragon, and all I want is her back. Honestly. They have a bond. An irreplaceable bond. Nala is not replaceable. Everything else is," said Dunn.

But it wasn't just Dunn's Christmas that was ruined.

"My Christmas gifts were in her house," said Tracy Vaughn.

Vaughn lives next to door to Dunn and said she kept her Christmas gifts at Dunn's house so her children wouldn't find them.

"We bought them on Wednesday. They were gone on Thursday," said Vaughn.

Vaughn said she lost hundreds of dollars worth of gifts and must now replace them.

"I have to go back to the store and rebuy it. Somehow some way," she said.

Deputies dusted the house for prints and followed the tracks outside, but no solid leads except for a vehicle description of a black Jeep.

"Now I feel like I have to constantly be aware of what's going on outside my house, in the middle of the afternoon," said Vaughn.

Neighbors tell Local 6 that a vacant house on the other side of Dunn was burglarized just the day before.
