Lower gas prices help drivers save money

Price drop allowing more to travel for holiday season

ORLANDO, Fla. – Drivers may be getting an extra gift this holiday season with gas at its lowest price in almost six years.

AAA says the holiday season will be very busy.

Gas prices have dropped beneath $2 per gallon in some states, allowing drivers to save money and visit their families.

"With the two cars that I have, (I'll save) between $60 to $80 a month," said Orlando resident Luis Ortiz.

"I'm happy, you know, I'm not paying $3.50 for a gallon of gas when normally it would take me $60 to $70 fill up," a driver said.  "Now it takes me $40 to fill up.  That's great."

The driver added that he's now saving up to $700 a month in gas.
