Fog blankets Central Florida

Dense fog advisory issued across counties

Thick fog blanketed Central Florida on Tuesday morning, prompting significant weather advisories across the state.

A dense fog advisory was issued by the National Weather Service in Orange, Seminole, Brevard, Osceola, Lake, Sumter and Volusia counties.

Officials say if you encounter dense fog or smoke while driving, reduce your speed, use your headlights and leave distance between your vehicle and the one ahead of you.

Temperatures will hit a high of 79 degrees on Tuesday, with a 20 percent chance of rain.

Rain chances return to 80 percent for Christmas Eve and high temperatures will reach 82 degrees, with lows in the mid-60s.

The weather will cool off a bit on Christmas Day, with a projected high temperature of 67 degrees and a low of 58 degres.

No rain chances for Friday and the low temperatures will dip down to 47 degrees, with a high of 70.
