Man arrested in undercover sex sting investigation, Seminole cops say
Deputies: Man thought he was chatting with 13-year-old
SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. – An undercover investigation led to a Melbourne man's arrest after deputies say he traveled to meet up with who he thought was a 13-year-old girl.
John Mills, 49, has been charged with soliciting a minor for sex, sending material harmful to a minor and traveling to have sex with a minor in the Crimes Against Children investigation.
For six weeks, investigators said they chatted online, emailed and spoke on the phone with Mills, who believed he was talking with a 13-year-old.
According to the report, Mills traveled to Seminole County with the intent to have sexual activity with the minor -- but he was arrested by CAC investigators instead.
Mills was booked into the Seminole County jail on a $36,000 bond. He has a first appearance Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.
