Man charged with 1st-degree murder in death of estranged wife, officials say


POINCIANA, Fla. – Osceola County deputies have charged a man in the death of a woman found in a van near Walgreens Monday morning.

Herve Placide, 49, a TSA Transportation Security Officer, was taken to the Osceola County Sheriff's Office to meet with detectives, where he was charged with first-degree murder and kidnapping.

Deputies said they responded to a residence on Van Loon Court in Poinciana in reference to a domestic disturbance just after 5 a.m. Monday.

A family member told deputies Placide and his estranged wife, Magalie Placide, were involved in physical altercation and that he drove away with her in a vehicle.

Deputies said at 6 a.m., Magalie Placide was found dead in a white minivan in a parking lot near Walgreens on Cypress Parkway.

Placide was taken to Osceola County Jail Monday evening.
