Stabbing cause of death in Poinciana homicide, deputies say

Man charged with 1st-degree murder in death of estranged wife

POINCIANA, Fla. – A woman who was found in a minivan in a parking lot was stabbed to death, according to the Osceola County Sheriff's Office.

A Medical Examiner indicated stabbing was the cause of Magalie Placide's death.

Deputies arrived around 5:13 a.m. Monday at a home on Van Loon Court in reference to a domestic disturbance.

A family member told deputies Herve Placide, 49, and his estranged wife, Magalie Placide, were involved in physical altercation and that he drove away with her in a vehicle.

Deputies said Magalie Placide was found dead at 6 a.m. in a white minivan in a parking lot near Walgreens on Cypress Parkway.

Detectives were able to make contact with Herve Placide, who agreed to meet with them. Deputies said he was interviewed but did not cooperate with the investigation.

Based on witness statements and the evidence, Herve Placide was arrested on a first-degree murder and kidnapping warrant and was booked Monday evening into the Osceola County Jail with no bond, deputies said.
