The driver of the garbage truck, Joseph Marc, 59, was traveling westbound on Curry Ford Road in the left turn lane as the motorcyclist traveled eastbound on the road.

Troopers said Marc attempted to make a left turn to travel southbound on SR 417 and turned into the direct path of the motorcycle. The front of the motorcycle struck the right-rear of the garbage truck.

The 50-year-old driver of the Harley Davidson motorcycle and a 24-year-old passenger were ejected off the motorcycle. Troopers said the driver was pronounced dead and the passenger was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center and suffered minor injuries. Both were wearing a helmet, according to FHP's report.

Marc and a 43-year-old passenger inside the garbage truck were not hurt, FHP said.

Troopers said all lanes were blocked because of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending, troopers said.
