Hit-and-run call leads to man found shot in Orlando

Orange County deputies go door to door looking for information

ORLANDO, Fla. – Orange County deputies called to a hit-and-run crash later discovered that the victim had been shot.

The victim was found Friday morning on Curry Ford Road near Goldenrod Road.

Deputies said they received a call about someone on a scooter who had been hit and was lying on the side of the road. 

Investigators said that after the man was taken to a hospital, they noticed a shell casing on the ground.  They called the hospital and found the man had been shot and was in critical condition.

Deputies went door to door in a neighborhood to see if anyone heard or saw the incident.

No other details have been released.
