Hit-run call that led to man found shot now a homicide investigation

Sheriff's Office: Victim taken off life-support and has died

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A hit-and-run call that led to a man found shot has now been upgraded to a homicide investigation, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

Keven Padilla, 19, who was found Friday afternoon lying by a motorized scooter, was taken off life support and has died, said the Sheriff's Office.

The crash happened on Curry Ford Road near Goldenrod Road.

Investigators said it wasn't until Padilla was taken to a hospital, that they noticed a shell casing on the ground.  They called the hospital and found the man had been shot and was in critical condition.
