The numbers are in, and once again Florida is the shark bite capital of the world.
According to the University of Florida, 28 shark bites were reported in the Sunshine State last year. That is more than half of the 52 reported nationwide in 2014.
Ten of the attacks in Florida happened in Volusia County, making it accountable for almost 1 in 5 of all attacks reported nationwide.
In all, 72 attacks were reported nationwide last year, which is down slightly from 75 in 2013.
