DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Beach safety officers are warning beachgoers that jellyfish are washing up on the shore.

Officials tell Local 6 they spotted several cannonball jellyfish Thursday, but no one was treated for stings.

Officials said the jellyfish are not terribly venomous but do affect people in different ways.

Red and purple flags were flown to advise beachgoers to be on the lookout.
