The opening was announced Tuesday at a news conference.

Organizers said, however, that some finishing touches need to be done before the grand opening of the 400-foot wheel, which has 30 air-conditioned capsules that will provide panoramic views of Central Florida.

"All in all we got about 100 hours of operational testing on the wheel," said Orlando Eye General Manager Robin Goodchild.  "We're in a really good place for the grand opening."

Merlin Entertainments PLC said Madame Tussauds Orlando and SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium will also open on the same day.

Tickets for each single attraction are $25 for adults and $20 for children ages 4 to 12.  Combination tickets to two or all three attractions are also available.  A two-attraction ticket is $39 per adult and $34 per child.  A ticket for all three attractions is $49 per adult and $44 per child.

Discounted tickets are also available for advanced purchase online.

The entertainment company said special opportunities are available for guests who sign up for attraction e-newsletters.
