DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A 66-year-old woman was dragged down the aisle of a Walmart parking lot in Daytona Beach by a purse-snatcher, according to police.

The robbery happened around 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Walmart Supercenter on Beville Road.

According to Daytona Beach police, the woman was in the parking lot unloading her shopping cart when a white or silver Kia approached her.  A man got out of the vehicle and grabbed the woman's purse, which was in the shopping cart, police said.

The purse was secured with a security strap attached to the shopping cart, so the woman also grabbed her purse, said police, who added that the man dragged her down row 19 of the parking lot.

The woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The purse contained a retired Oakland County Sheriff's Office badge, several credit cards and about $600, police said.

The purse-snatcher and the driver of the Kia were only described by police as about 20 years old.

The Kia, reported stolen in a carjacking last month in Orlando, has the Florida tag L06-4YF.
