ORLANDO, Fla. – A gunman that fired shots into another vehicle in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven convenience store is being sought by the Orlando Police Department.

The shooting happened at 5:27 p.m. Tuesday at the store on Silver Star Road.

A woman and her boyfriend were pulling out of the 7-Eleven store in her vehicle when a different vehicle pulled up next to her and a gunman inside began firing shots into her car, police said.

Nobody was hit with any of the shots, according to Orlando police.

Police spent Tuesday evening searching for bullets that ripped through the car, which shattered all four windows and tore through the driver's seat, just missing the woman and her boyfriend.

"By looking at the car, they're both supposed to be dead today," said Latasha Brisbane. "I just thank God that the bullet did not hit her."

Brisbane said her 19-year-old daughter was driving when the shooter saw them at 7-Eleven. Both just barely dodged the hail of gunfire that she said was aimed at the boyfriend.

"All my baby could do is lay down. That's the only thing that saved her and she ain't got nothing to do with that," said Brisbane. "I feel like if you want him, you need to go get him, leave my baby out of that. My baby ain't got nothing to do with this."

The woman and her boyfriend ended up at the Burger King drive-thru, where workers heard the gunshots.

"While I was taking the order I just hear four shots in the drive-thru. That's it," said Marianne Cadet. "I hear someone yelling, 'Get in the car, get in the car.'"

It was a close call for the woman, who dropped off her baby minutes before the shooting.

"She just took my grandbaby out of the car," said Brisbane. "What if my grandbaby was sitting in that seat? She would be dead today. It needs to stop."

The shooter's vehicle fled north on Dardanelle Drive. Police described the vehicle as a dark-colored, possibly gray, Dodge Durango. Orlando police said the vehicle was occupied by three black men.
