Beverly Chastain dies in crash with big rig, FHP says


YEEHAW JUNCTION, Fla. – A woman driving a motorcycle was killed Friday morning in a crash with a semitrailer in Osceola County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Troopers said Beverly Chastain, 44, of Winter Haven, died in the crash, which occurred around 7 a.m. on State Road 60 near Mae Bass Road.

According to the FHP, Chastain was riding eastbound on S.R. 60 alongside her husband, who was also on a motorcycle, when she collided with the big rig, which was headed westbound.

Chastain was taken to Lake Wales Hospital and pronounced dead, troopers said.

The big rig driver was not injured, according to the FHP.  An FHP report did not state if Chastain's husband was injured.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
