Deputies said convicted felon Jean Barreau was captured Friday afternoon, ending a nearly three-day search for him in Orange County.

Barreau, 24, was arrested on a robbery warrant Wednesday and taken to the Orange County Central Operations Center on West Colonial Drive to be interviewed by detectives, according to officials.

Barreau was being questioned about a December incident in which he allegedly robbed someone else.  When he finished his interview, Barreau escaped through a rear door, deputies said.

Deputies said Barreau was found in an Apopka home on Friday hiding in the attic.

"Once inside there was evidence that somebody may have been in the attic," said Capt. Rick Meli, adding Barreau eventually surrendered.

He was taken to Orange County jail.
