Gas prices break records for peak travel season

Pump prices fall eight consecutive days

ORLANDO, Fla. – Gas prices fell dropped eight consecutive days to a national average of $2.42, according to AAA.

While it was a slight drop, gas experts say that prices haven't dipped this low during a peak travel time since 2009.

The lower prices could drive more people to hit the road for spring break, AAA suggests.

The current average for a gallon of gas in Orlando sits at $2.39. That's ten cents higher than last month but more than a buck cheaper than this time last year.
