Gunmen shoot at Orange County deputies, residents

At least 1 person hurt as search for gunmen continues

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – The search is on for a group of gunmen who shot at people, including a deputy and buildings, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said a couple was carjacked at gunpoint near Lancaster and Winegard roads early Saturday morning.

About 9 p.m. Saturday, three to four suspects matching the description of the carjackers were reported firing at people and buildings.

One person who was in a nearby car was hurt in the gunfire, but did not suffer life-threatening injuries.

Deputies said the suspects then ditched that car and ran off on foot, firing at an Orange County deputy on the way. That deputy was not hurt.

At least 100 deputies, sheriff's dogs and helicopters are taking part in the search.
