SunRail free for Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival

Service free Saturday, Sunday; 6 round trips held each day


WINTER PARK, Fla. – SunRail is running free this weekend for the annual Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival.

The Florida Department of Transportation said trains Friday were busier than normal. FDOT added an extra train to accommodate the crowds.

Organizers expect more than 300,000 people to attend the festival this weekend, and this year, SunRail is playing a major role in getting people there.

?Service is free Saturday and Sunday, with the first trains leaving Debary and Sandlake Road, respectively at about 9 a.m. They will run six round trips each day, with the last trains leaving Winter Park about 4 p.m.

The service is being paid for by Florida Hospital and various civic organizations.
