Man sentenced in Orlando-area bank robberies

US attorneys: William Bass sentenced to 15 years in federal prison


ORLANDO, Fla. – A 40-year-old Oviedo man has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for multiple bank robberies from the Orlando area into Georgia, U.S. attorneys said.

William Bass robbed three Orlando-area banks, including a SunTrust Bank branch on June 10 and two different Fairwinds Credit Union branches June 14, according to court documents.

U.S. attorneys said Bass continued his spree of robberies in Hinesville, Georgia, and he faces additional federal charges in the Southern District of Georgia.
