Iconic seats at Daytona International Speedway to be torn out

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – For years, the backstretch seating at Daytona International Speedway provided thousands of racing fans some of the best seats in the house.

Now, the seats are set to be removed as a part of the Daytona Rising Project.

Weather permitting, the demolition will begin Monday.

The $400 million construction project to remodel NASCAR's most famous speedway is set for completion next year.
