Orange County sheriff's deputy crashes into pole

Deputy swerved to miss motorcyclist, officials say

ORLANDO, Fla. – An Orange County sheriff's deputy crashed into a pole after swerving to miss a motorcyclist while responding to a burglary call, officials said.

The crash happened early Monday on Lake Underhill Road near Cosmos Drive.

According to officials, the deputy lost control of his cruiser and hit a pole on the side of the road.  The deputy suffered a minor hand injury, officials said.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office said no one else was injured.
