Bomb threat prompts evacuations at Stetson University

All-clear given; Classes resume Wednesday

DeLAND, Fla. – Authorities on Wednesday continue to investigate a bomb threat that prompted evacuations at Stetson University in DeLand.

A man made the threat via phone around 9 p.m. Tuesday, causing several buildings to be evacuated, according to officials.  The affected buildings were McMahan, Elizabeth and Presser halls and the LBC area, school officials said.

The campus advised students to stay in residence halls or off campus while the threat was investigated.

Students were updated via email and texts until the all-clear was issued, officials said.

Classes resumed at the school Wednesday.

No other details about the threat were released.
