Man accused of holding woman hostage faces attempted murder charges

Kissimmee police say man faces several charges

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – A man faces several charges, including attempted murder, kidnapping and false imprisonment, in connection to a domestic incident Friday morning in Kissimmee.

Marc A. Henry, 34, of Orlando, will be taken to the Osceola County Jail after being treated for injuries, officials said.

According to Kissimmee police, officers were called around 11 a.m. to the area near Central Avenue and Neptune Road for a man apparently holding a pregnant woman against her will inside a vehicle.  A witness also thought he saw a gun, police said.

"I said 'y'all OK? Do you need help?'" Reggie Miller told Local 6 he said to Henry. "He said 'No, no, we good. We good.' I said 'are you sure?' Then I looked to the back and I saw the lady she had both of her hands up and she was shaking her head and saying 'no, no, no,'... I thought no she's in trouble. Let me call 911."

Officers attempted to talk with the driver, later identified as Henry, but he did not respond, police said.  Henry was removed from the vehicle, a van belonging to Green Cab of Orlando, after a brief standoff, officials said.

Henry was taken to a local hospital to be treated for a laceration to his abdomen, according to police.

The woman was airlifted to a hospital for evaluation, police said.

A nearby day care was evacuated and several businesses were placed on lockdown during the incident.

Henry faces charges of attempted murder, domestic aggravated battery, domestic strangulation, kidnapping and false imprisonment.
