O'Neal will be honored at the Amway Center during a game Friday night against the Detroit Pistons. He will be the third member of the Magic Hall of Fame, joining Pat Williams and Nick Anderson.

Orlando selected O'Neal with the first overall pick in the 1992 NBA draft.  During his time on the Magic, he was named an NBA All-Star four times and was NBA Rookie of the Year.  He also helped Orlando reach the NBA Finals in 1995.

"Shaq made a tremendous impact on our franchise during his time with us and we are thrilled to recognize him as our third inductee into the Magic Hall of Fame," Magic CEO Alex Martins said.  "He carries on a great legacy of those who made the greatest contribution to the rich history of the Orlando Magic."
