Report: Radio stations pull Little Big Town's 'Girl Crush'

Song being pulled because of provocative lyrics

Country radio stations have started to pull Little Big Town's new hit single 'Girl Crush' because of the controversy surrounding the lyrics.

The Washington Post reports the song about a woman that is envious of her ex-boyfriend's new girlfriend has created a problem with several country music fans.

Lyrics like "I want to taste her lips, yeah cause they taste like you / I want to drown myself in a bottle of her perfume", have people calling and e-mailing into radio stations saying the song is "promoting the gay agenda".

The backlash from the song has been disappointing for the Grammy-winning band. The group recently said in an interview "Just that fact that we're still discussing that, number one, there are so many problems with that whole issue."

The song proves the divide between country sales and radio play.  People in the industry hope there is a way to reconcile the two.
