Man accused of exposing himself in UCF parking garage sought

Incident happened in lower level of parking garage D

ORLANDO, Fla. – A man who exposed himself in a parking garage at the University of Central Florida is sought by police.

It happened around 3:30 p.m. Saturday in the lower level of parking garage D at the university.

Police said a woman was with a friend in the garage when the man exposed himself and took off.

The parking garage is across from CFE Arena on campus, where a major fundraiser was taking place Saturday. As a result, a lot of people were parked at the garage for the event.

The incident comes the same week UCF student Robert McKinney went before the Board of Trustees to advocate for more security cameras in parking garages on campus.

McKinney began his campaign, which includes a nearly 1,200-signature petition, after his car was broken into while parked in a garage early in the semester. McKinney said the thieves stole expensive stereo equipment.

He said after incidents like Saturday's, the need for more cameras is even more evident.

"I just find it ridiculous and it goes to show the need for more security cameras could help all students?," McKinney said.

McKinney told Local 6 the Board of Trustees acknowledged his concerns and said it would look into adding cameras. It did not elaborate.

The man is described by police as a white man in his 20s who has brown hair, and wore a white shirt and jeans. He was seen driving a blue van in the area of the garage.

Anyone who has information about this incident is asked to call UCF police.
