DeLAND, Fla. – Two children and a woman were ejected from a vehicle that struck a tree Monday morning in Volusia County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Leslie Harris, 27, of Ormond Beach, and the children, ages 4 and 7, were taken to Halifax Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries after the crash, which occurred around 8 a.m. on  International Speedway Boulevard at Central Parkway in DeLand, the FHP said.

According to troopers, Harris was driving a 2002 four-door Saturn west on ISB when she lost control of the car, left the roadway and struck a tree.  All three occupants were ejected in the crash but only suffered minor injuries, troopers said.

Westbound lanes of the roadway were closed because of the crash but later reopened.

The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
