No credible threat found at Embry-Riddle in Daytona Beach

Suspicious letter prompted building evacuation

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A suspicious note found Wednesday morning at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach has been deemed not credible, school officials said.

Police were called around 8:15 a.m. when the "threatening" note was found at the College of Aviation building, which was evacuated.

It's not known what the note said, but a sign posted at the school said, "Officers are investigating a threatening note found in the C.O.A. building.  As a precaution the building is closed until further notice.  Please stay away."

Police investigated the incident and the building was reopened about two hours later after no credible threat was found, the school said.
