SANFORD, Fla. – A warning shot was fired from a Sanford house during an attempted home invasion, according to police.
The incident occurred late Tuesday on Locust Avenue near Hamilton Elementary School.
According to police, at least one person tried to force entry into the home. Someone inside fired a gunshot, which prompted the would-be intruder or intruders to run away.
A manhunt with K-9 units and a helicopter failed to locate any suspects.
No injuries were reported.
A detailed description of the suspects was not known.
An investigation is ongoing.
