Black tip shark washes ashore on Ponce Inlet

Florida wildlife officials say fish likely attacked by another shark

PONCE INLET, Fla. – A 6-foot black tip shark washed ashore on Ponce Inlet after apparently being attacked by another shark, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

The shark was found around noon Monday, beach officials said.

The shark had a large wound that appeared to be from another shark, wildlife officials said.

The shark died and the FWC took samples for testing, Volusia County Beach Safety Ocean Rescue said.
