TITUSVILLE, Fla. – A 17-year-old was shot dead early Tuesday outside a Titusville bar, police said.

According to police, Alvin Gregory Mitchell, of Titusville, died in the shooting, which occurred around 2 a.m. at the Lazy Gator Bar at 2908 S. Hopkins Ave.

Titusville police said officers received a call and found Mitchell dead in the parking lot of the bar. 

"We believe he was a patron of the bar because we did have some people say he was in there earlier in the evening," Titusville police Lt. Matt Demmon said.

Detectives were interviewing customers who were at the bar when the shooting occurred.  Demmon said security video was taken from cameras outside the bar.

No other details, including information about the shooter, have been released.
