ORLANDO, Fla. – Westbound Colonial Drive is back open after a crash involving two suspects wanted in a home burglary and aggravated assault, according to Orange County sheriff's deputies.

Police said the resident of a home on Marinell Drive arrived home around 9:45 a.m. to find two men coming out of his house. The victim told police the robbers pointed a gun at him before fleeing. That man then called 911.

Pine Hills police chase

Sheriff's helicopters tracked the suspects in their black sedan heading west on State Road 408. The suspects led police on a high-speed chase before witnesses said their car T-boned a Dodge Durango at the intersection of Pine Hills and Colonial Roads.

They tell Local 6 the two suspects got out of their damaged car and tried to carjack at least two other vehicles before deputies arrived.

The driver, Jalil Harvell, 24, and the passenger, Willie Samuel, 23, were both taken into custody.

West Colonial Drive was shut down for about three hours while deputies gathered evidence, made the arrests and towed the cars involved.

The roadway re-opened around 1:10 p.m.
