ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A woman lost control of her car on State Road 528 in east Orange County and struck and killed a man on a lawn mower, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The fatal crash happened Thursday afternoon on eastbound S.R. 528 near Dallas Boulevard.
According to the FHP, Leomary Rivera Carmona, 25, of Orlando, traveled onto the center grass median after losing control of her car for an unknown reason and hit Jose Caraballo, 46, of Orlando, who was cutting the grass.
Caraballo was ejected off of the lawn mower. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Carmona was taken to Florida Hospital East with minor injuries. Troopers said charges are pending against her.
Eastbound lanes of S.R. 528 has one lane re-opened at Dallas Boulevard (exit 24), traffic is still backed up in the area.
