Driver sought in Daytona Beach hit-and-run

Scooter operator Timothy Gordon suffers life-threatening injuries

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Daytona Beach police are searching for a driver who struck and seriously injured a scooter operator in a hit-and-run crash.

Police said Timothy Gordon, 39, was riding a scooter on the Orange Avenue Bridge early Sunday when he was hit by a white car, which drove off.

Police said the impact was so severe that car parts were embedded into the scooter.

Gordon, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police later released video of the car they said was involved in the crash.

Anyone with information about the wreck is urged to call police.
