Friends remember man killed in OIA tram accident
Adam Lee ejected from tram
ORLANDO, Fla. – Thirty-two year old Adam Lee is described as a goofy, adventure-seeking friend, son and business partner.
Lee, a professional videographer, died Friday when a sudden stop propelled him through the windshield and off a tram at Orlando International Airport.? He fell nearly 15 feet and died from his injuries.
Friend and business partner John Carkeet said Lee was on his way to a vacation in Bogota, Colombia, when he fell.
"To know Adam was to love him?," Carkeet said. "He was such a big man with such a big personality. He didn't really have to say anything to get your attention. His technical expertise when it came to video production, his love for anything new whether it was new food, new restaurant, new drinks, a new country, he just immersed himself."
Carkeet said Lee's family is still struggling to understand what happened and to process the grief.
Family and friends will hold a memorial service for Lee Saturday in Rockledge.
Investigators said Lee was invited to drive the tram by a friend who works at OIA. While Lee was at the controls he let go, triggering the automatic stop that ejected him.
Multiple agencies continue to investigate the accident.
