Guard accused of shooting at driver at Lynx station in Orlando

Basim Ahmed Salahuddinwynn arrested, taken to jail

ORLANDO, Fla. – A security guard was arrested Monday on allegations of shooting at a driver who was driving away from a Lynx bus station after trying to help a friend change a tire.

Basim Ahmed Salahuddinwynn, 62, of Casselberry, was arrested on charges of battery and shooting/throwing into an occupied vehicle.

According to an Orange County arrest affidavit, a man said his friend called him for help changing a tire on the friend's car at the Lynx station on Garland Avenue in Orlando.

The man said shortly after he arrived, a security guard, identified as Salahuddinwynn, told the man to leave, and that if he didn't, his vehicle would also have a flat tire, the affidavit stated.  The man said Salahuddinwynn also bumped into him, nearly knocking him down, according to authorities.

The man said he got into his car and started to leave, but Salahuddinwynn stood close to his vehicle, officials said.  The man said as he began to leave, Salahuddinwynn fired at least four shots at his car, the affidavit stated.

The man told authorities that he believed Salahuddinwynn was shooting at him as he was driving away.

No injuries were reported.

Salahuddinwynn was later arrested and taken to jail.
