Boil water notice issued for part of Rockledge

Notice affects area of Indian Oaks Senior Citizen Center, strip center

ROCKLEDGE, Fla. – The Indian Oaks Senior Citizen Center and a strip center in Rockledge were affected by a boil-water notice Wednesday night, according to the Cocoa Utilities Department.

A water main broke Wednesday in the 700 block of Barnes Boulevard, causing the alert.

Officials advised that all water used for consumption -- such as drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth and washing dishes -- be boiled.

The notice will remain in effect for a minimum of two days until the problem has been resolved.
